The Paediatric Onco-Endocrinology Meeting (POEM) is a pioneering initiative aimed at bridging the gap between paediatric oncology and endocrinology. Established in 2024, POEM is the first global conference dedicated to exploring the complex interplay between these two critical medical specialties.
Hosted by the Department of Paediatric Endocrinology at Apollo Children’s Hospital, Chennai, in collaboration with the Chennai Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Foundation and in association with the Indian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ISPAE), POEM serves as a platform for experts to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and innovate new approaches to the care of paediatric patients who face both oncological and endocrine challenges.
Under the guidance of a distinguished organizing committee, POEM brings together a wide range of experts, including oncologists, endocrinologists, researchers, and healthcare providers, to address the unique challenges in this evolving field. By hosting discussions on topics such as late endocrine effects in cancer survivors, thyroid and adrenal tumors, and pituitary disorders, POEM aims to lead the way in transforming care for young patients worldwide.
